"I bought a new tractor at L&C a couple months ago. It was a great experience -- Mark spent lots of time giving me operation instructions, explaining all the features, and the test driving experience was basically a free tutorial. In contrast to other tractor dealerships I visited, there was not a high-pressure sales atmosphere, no offensive mansplaining to a first-time female tractor buyer, and the financing options were clearly explained and fair. I also bought a brush hog from them a little while later, and when Mark delivered that, he did the tractor greasing for me and went out of his way to make a needed replacement bolt for the tractor wheel appear the same day. Its a good tractor on its own, but the service is really what sold it. I look forward to working with them in the future!"

"Wife & I bought a Kubota BX2680 tractor on 9-6-2017, Jeremy was a great help in this process and was so kind & knowledgeable with all our questions, even stayed after closing to work with us (don't see that much these days) and actually everyone there that day was so kind. I've seen a couple reviews on here with complaints about the customer service here, my experiences with them has been fantastic! Had the 50-hour service done on the tractor & they fit me in when they were really busy and did a great job with the tractor & the pickup & delivery is a really great thing. I had several bad experiences with the Land & Coates in NN several yrs ago, really poor service & just plain rude people so that's why I haven't done business with Land & Coates for years,. Actually we had no plans in doing business with them that day, just went there to look since they have such a nice selection and after having such a great experience, we bought a tractor, box blade & landscape rake!

"On 01 April 2017, I bought commercial Honda Lawnmower & Stihl Weed Trimmer with assistance of Mike (courteous & knowledgeable sales associate). On 17 April 2017, I needed a repair of my weed trimmer due to operator error. At 8:00 am, I dropped off the trimmer for repairs. Andy & Jed at service desk gave a thorough explanation of possible issues with my equipment. Furthermore, they reviewed end user procedures and cautions for appropriate operation of the trimmer. At 2:00 pm on the same day, my weed trimmer was returned for a quick turn around. I recommend Land & Coates Portsmouth, VA location for purchase of, service and repair of quality landscaping equipment. The price was very competitive. I don't usually buy from a local brick and mortar store but their price was equal to the big online retailer, delivery was free, and they will do the warrantee work should the need arise. "I want to personally thank the employees of L and C. Due to Hurricane Matthew my family was without power for over 48 hours. After some deliberation, I decided it was time to buy a generator for my family while we waited for the city to restore our power. "Very good service. My hustler zero turn mower broke a drive belt Monday 10/31/16. I called Land & Coates, (which is where I purchased the mower from 3 years ago) and they came out that afternoon and picked the mower up. I received a call on Wed giving me a repair estimate. In addition to the belt replacement, asked for a complete tune up, replace the blades, and check the other belts for wear and replace. Land and Coats called me with an cost of repairs and time frame on Tuesday. Received a call on Thursday the mower was ready and could schedule deliver the 1st of next week. Received a call on Friday morning said the mower could be delivered that afternoon. I was so pleased with the customer service. It was a pleasure to have a company follow up with me versus me having to make repeated calls to obtain information. Job well done."
